For most Quorn homes none is needed, because the lift sits entirely indoors as permitted development. The village conservation area around the church and its listed buildings are the exception, where internal changes to a listed home can also require consent. Three to five days is typical for a Quorn installation. It depends on whether a wheelchair has to travel. A stairlift carries a seated rider and leaves the wheelchair below. A platform lift carries the wheelchair or scooter up with the user, between the floors. For a Quorn home where a wheelchair is in use, the lift is generally the more capable and longer-lasting choice.

Yes. Servicing is part of every OnLevel installation. Once your Quorn lift is fitted, our engineers come back on a regular plan to inspect and test it, across Barrow upon Soar, Mountsorrel, Woodhouse and Rothley, and respond quickly should a fault appear. Routine maintenance keeps the lift safe, reliable and compliant.

Very little. The OnLevel lift asks only for a shallow 150mm pit and houses no separate machinery, so a corner of a room or the space beside the staircase is usually enough. That is how it serves the older houses of the village, where owners would rather adapt than leave a much-loved Quorn home.

Yes. Our engineers hold SafeContractor accreditation under CN8516, and every Quorn lift is built to the EN 81-41 safety standard alongside Part M of the Building Regulations and BS 8300:2018. The work is carried out by our own trained teams rather than subcontractors, and each lift is fully tested, certified and signed off before handover.
